Hengst fuel filters remove particles of rust and dust, tank residues, water and other substances that can adversely affect the operation of modern fuel injection systems.
Always change this filter every 12000 miles. your fuel injection system depends upon it! it is located in the rear near the fuel pump, and is an easy replacement.
If your car tends to be stored for long periods of time and you experience fuel pump failures, be sure to check the fuel tank strainer. As these cars sit the strainer screens tends to build up with contaminants, the lack of fuel in the pump due to the blockage will destroy a fuel pump relatively quickly. When performing a fuel system service, we recommend that you replace this in tank strainer. Sold individually. 1 necessary per car. Please note: for the 924 models, this only fits the years 1976-1979.
This item may need to be sourced from Germany and would take 2-4 weeks to arrive. Once ordered it cannot be canceled. Please call to check stock or request expedited shipping.
When these parts fail you will experience a rich mixture, poor performance and finally stalling. Common to fail, always suspect these parts before any other monotronic component.
When checking fuel pressure at the end of the fuel rail, it should read 35 psi at idle. if it is substantially higher the fuel pressure regulator has failed. Make sure that you clean the tank strainer and change the fuel filter when you replace the pump
